James Spader (James Todd Spader) has been an intriguing presence in Hollywood
and has notable roles to his credit which have earned him a loyal fan following.
There has often been something different about the characters he has played and
the manner in which he has played them which sets him apart. Now, of course, he
is popular with the Television series Boston Legal.
James Spader was born in Boston, Massachusetts on 7th
February, 1960 at 8:02 PM. The time is stated to be accurate. I found on casting the horoscope that the
time of birth required some rectification. With the given time of birth we were
getting Kanyā/ Kanya Lagna in the Rāśi Chakra/ Lagna chart with Rāhu/ Rahu in
it, right at the first degree of Virgo. But then this brings Ketu to the 7th
House of marriage which does not portend well for the marriage. However James
Spader had been married for a long time to Victoria Kheel, from 1979 to 2004.
One moved the time of birth back by a few seconds to get Leo Lagna at
its 29th degree and more and the Lagna chart and the divisional
charts/ Varga Chakra appear to make more sense with this time change. In the
result I have rectified the time of birth to 8:00:45 PM.
The focus should be on the 10th House where the Upapada
Lagna has now come to Taurus/ Vṛṣabha Rāśi/ Vrishabha Rashi ruled by Venus/
Śukra and shows that the wife could be involved in work governed by Venus which
she is being a decorator.
As in the case of another actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman, the Mercurial
signs are dominant with the Ārūḍha/ Arudha Lagna being in Gemini/ Mithuna Rāśi/
Rashi indicating the profession of acting. Further the Moon is there in the
sign showing great popularity.
The peculiarity in the horoscope is that the lord of the Ārūḍha Lagna and
the dispositor of the Moon, Budha or Mercury is in Maraṇa Kāraka Sthāna/ Marana
Karaka Sthana from the Lagna which shows that the image in the social and material
world does not right away attain a station which one might expect with the Moon
in the Ārūḍha Lagna. At the same time Mercurial brilliance and like minded
associates would characterise his life.
Also there is a Graha Śrāpa/ Shrapa in the 5th House which
also happens to be the 7th from the Ārūḍha Lagna blocking the Dwāra/ Dwara or the doorway of
the fullest emergence into the world. Saturn and Mars are both here with Venus
and Jupiter and while the magnificent results of Venus-Jupiter Yoga, and the
Yānavaṅta/Yanavanta/ Annapūrṇā/ Annapurna Yoga and the Gajakesarī/ Gajakesari
Yoga have manifested perhaps they have not done so to the fullest extent.
We can conjecture that the fullest results of these Yogas have been
blocked. If these had been remedied then the level of success would have been
commensurate with his talent and potential.
Also as some sort of a pointer we can see that the 10th
Lord of the Rāśi Chakra Venus shows that the management of the Karma in the
direction of the career and vocation is
a responsibility handed over to Venus (movies and entertainment).
With the given time of 8:00:02 PM there were no planets in the trines
to the Lagna in the Navāmśa/ Navamsha Chakra which surprised me for such a
gifted actor. With the minor rectification which also brought the Prāṇapada/
Pranapada to the desired place from the Moon in the D-9 chart, Jupiter, Sun and
Ketu come to the trines and so a high level of understanding of his craft and a
deep sense of rhythm and music would
have also developed in his personality with age.
In the Rāśi Chakra also though the Moon strongly sustains the first
marriage, there are Rāśi Dṛṣti/ Rashi Drishti of Rāhu/Rahu and Ketu to the 2nd
House from the Upapada Lagna showing the
chances for break in the marriage. As stated the 2nd Lord from the Upapada
Lagna is in Maraṇa Kāraka Sthāna.
Back to the Navāmśa Chakra. We find that the 7th Lord
Budha/ Mercury has gone to the 12th House with Mars and this
marriage was going to end at some point.
The fact that Spader has two sons from the first marriage can be seen
from the first Upapada Lagna and the relevant Bhāvas.
The second alliance with his co-star of Alien Hunter, Leslie Stefanson,
is one driven more by the quality of attraction with Mars, Venus and Saturn joined
and is also reflected in the 2nd Lord of the Navāmśa Chakra Saturn joined Venus and the Moon in the Navāmśa
Chakra in the 11th House.
The fact that his parents were teachers is indicated by the fact that
Mercury is in the 9th House in the Dwādaśāmśa Cakra/ Dwadashamsha
Chakra/ D-12 chart and the fact that the 10th Lord from the 9th
is Jupiter. The exercise can be repeated from the 4th House for more
indications.
The acting career is to be seen from the Daśāmśa/ Dashamsha Chakra/
D-10 chart.
The 10th Lord of the Rāśi Chakra Venus is the Lagna Lord here
with Sun the Rāśi Chakra Lagna Lord being in Lagna. There is a strong destiny
connection between his physical existence and work and he might be associating
his overall existence with how he performs in work.
James Spader is most noted for the sensuous characters portrayed (‘Sex,
Lies and Videotape’, Wolf, Secretary). Venus is in the Jala Tattwa sign Cancer/
Karka in the D-10 and that too in the 3rd House leading to this.
Spader dropped out of formal education at the age of 17. both formal and informal education is judged from the Siddhāmśa Cakra/ Siddhamsha Chakra or the D-24 chart where Karka Lagna rises and the Lagneśa/Lagnesha Cañdra/ Chandra is joined Rahu and Ketu which immediately indicates the course of life as far as the education is concerned. This is also because the combination is in the 12th House from the 4th House from the Lagna which is the fundamental reference in this division.

The Mercury Mahādaśā starts for him in 2015 and while it is malefic for his health it is outstanding for the career and material life. Mercury is in the 9th House from the Ārūḍha Lagna in the Rāśi Chakra, an unconditional blessing and debilitated in the Artha chart of the career which is equally good. This long period of the Budha Mahādaśā could be the crowning glory of his life.
