Vedic Astrology Predictions for January 2015

January 2015 commences with some conspicuous combinations in Vedic astrology for the contemporary person. Midway through the month Sūrya/ Surya/ the Sun goes through the auspicious Makara Saṅkrāṅti/ Sankranti as well and it transits from Sagittarius/ Dhanuṣa/ Dhanusha to Capricorn/ Makara.

The conjunction/ Yuti of two benefics Śukra/ Shukra/ Venus and Budha/ Mercury in Capricorn is blessing the work domain albeit with the affliction of the planetary aspects of Śani/ Shani/ Saturn from Vṛṣcika Rāśi/ Vrishchika Rashi/ Scorpio and Rāhu/ Rahu from Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi/ Virgo.

The impact of the entry and journey of the Sun into Capricorn is that of ignition and impetus to work related activities and the requirements of slogging may also be there for those who are to experience this Karma owing to the Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti/ aspect of Saturn. The aspect of Saturn is to Capricorn which is its own house and so if the ignorance relating to work has been quelled then the aspect is not too problematic.

There are some higher aspects to the conjunction of Mercury and Venus but suffice it to say that Mercury is the Naisargika Kāraka (Karaka)/ Natural Significator for the 10th House and Venus is a great benefic leading to a blessing. In other words some very positive developments can be expected in work when the spark of illumination and energy is brought by the Sun in the days following Makara Saṅkrāṅti to the sign of Capricorn, although the stress of the aspect of the malefics cannot be overlooked.

The aspect of Rāhu from Virgo is quite strong and it can in the positive fuel meaningful aspirations in the career and business.

These influences will be felt very strongly if the sign Capricorn happens to be in the Artha Tṛkoṇa/ Trikona from the Udaya Lagna or the rising sign in the natal horoscope. The Artha Tṛkoṇa pertains to matters relating to career, wealth and work and comprises the houses 2, 6 and 10 from the Lagna or the Ascendant.

Saturn and Mars are in Parivartana Yoga having exchanged their signs and this is a very uneasy relationship. Slow compulsion and seeming dissipation is changing to robust and structured action. But there is conflict being experienced before this can come to pass and much would depend which axis the signs Scorpio and Aquarius occupy in your chart to discern the thrust and application of this phenomena in your lives.

It is with such principles that we begin our study of nativities and horoscopes in individual cases using advanced and secret principles of the Ṛṣis and apply them directly to the complexities of modern life. The rich texture of esoteric and classical Vedic astrology principles available for all charts representing various distinct spheres of life enables us to examine the crucial life realms of marriage, career, siblings, property, progeny, parents, luxuries and many more with astute depth, description and precision making our advance as human beings replete with the perspective, insight and guidance derived from the ancient genius of Vedic India.

Robin Williams' Suicide & Drug (Substance) Abuse: A Vedic Astrology/ Jyotisha Interpretation

This Vedic Astrology/ Jyotisha paper evaluates the Hollywood actor Robin William’s suicide and his proclivities to drug (substance) abuse and we shall also see some of the Rajayogas from his Vedic horoscope which made him the accomplished performer and the celebrity that he was.
(Birth data- July 21,1951; 1:34 PM; Chicago, Illinois, USA)
The Rāśi Chakra is given below for reference-

Robin Williams’ Life Characteristics-
Libra/ Tulā Lagna rises in the Rāśi Chakra and the lord Venus/ Śukra is in the Rāhu-Ketu axis which precipitates a lifestyle deviating from the norms. Rāhu and Ketu tread a path of their own. Ketu can go to extremes as it is headless and the Lagneśa indicates the intelligence of the person. Rationality is not attractive to such a person and he may be apt to go to extremes for a beyond-the-intelligence experience. Rāhu aspects the Lagna Lord  with its 7th Bhāva aspect.

Robin Williams’ Mind-
The Moon/ Cañdra is the significator for the emotional and social participation of the person. It is joined Rāhu in the 5th Bhāva of the Citta or consciousness bringing delusion and experimenting with drugs for a novel experience with consciousness. The mutual aspect between Śukra and Cañdra in the Rāhu-Ketu axis forms a heady Rudra Yoga which makes the feelings spiral out of control. He would have sought illumination from his friends but it would have been a quest destined to meet with failure as he would have been the wise one in that sort of an exchange.
Robin Williams’ Rajayoga-
As for the Rajayoga we can see the Yānavata Yoga formed between the Lābha Sthāna and the 5th House. The Nipua Yoga in the 10th House shows his accomplishments in acting and the overwhelming screen presence with Sūrya in Digbala. It exacted a heavy price though since Sūrya is the Bādhakeśa for this Lagna.
The real Rajayoga comes from Śani in the 12th Bhāva from the Lagna. This is the key to his real rise in life as it is the malefic Yogakāraka in Dusthāna. The one positive is that this Graha is not joined another and so the damage from his pain did not spill over too greatly on others.
Robin Williams’ Drug Abuse-
These experiences are confirmed from the Arudha Chakra as it is this chart which reflects the events that are actually precipitated in life. The Ārūha Lagna is in the 9th Bhāva in this chart in Gemini. It is the 6th Lord of abuse from this sign which is placed in the Lagna and sows the seeds for substance abuse and Mars as a malefic can fulfil this agenda very well.
Śani is the Kāraka for alcoholism and aspects the Ārūha Lagna with Graha Driṣṭi/ planetary aspect. The concoction is complete with Rāhu aspecting Magala with Graha Driṣṭi along with Śani. This was a case of very serious drug abuse as virtually all determinants of substance abuse exist in full force.
Robin Williams’ Suicide-
Mode of death is seen from the 3rd Bhāva from the Ārūḍha Lagna. Here we have the headless Ketu showing the breaking of the wind-pipe (symbolic of the cutting off of the head associated with the nodes) and the fact that Śukra is the Lagneśa of the chart shows that this is by his own hand. The fact that this happens in the Bādhaka Sthāna confirms the diabolical nature of the event.
Having said that the Karma behind it appears to be clear as day.
