Realisation and Coming Full Circle-Moon in Pisces on 19th September, 2013

While the planetary aspects of the malefic Rāhu and debilitated Mars oppress the mind on the 18th with the Moon shining full on Pūrṇimā/Poornima Tithi on the 18th of September, and the malefics strong at night, the journey of the Moon continues unabated to Pisces/Mīna/ Meena Rāśi/ Rashi on the 19th of September, 2013.

On the full Moon, Cañdra/ Chandra is full of rays/ Kalā and the mind will be illuminated. There will be keys that will unlock many conundrums because the Sun aspects the Moon from the perfunctory and perfectionist Virgo/ Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi and inspires a need for resources and a recognition of the power, ambition, and work related glory that is proximate. The Moon is swirling in a sea of release and meditation in Pisces. This happens on Gurūvāra/ Thursday and so the energies of Jupiter are quite strong both as the Vāra/ Vara lord/ lord of the day and as the lord of the sign where the mind or the Moon is transiting.

The following transit chart illustrates this-

Exalted Mercury/ Budha also aspects the Moon and the three planets are therefore closely associated through both planetary and sign aspects. When the mind is illuminated in this manner things will appear in sharp relief and in clear perspective. The onerousness of the malefic aspects in Aquarius will be a thing of the past.

Pisces/ Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi is ruled by Jupiter while Aquarius is ruled by Rāhu and Śani/ Rahu and Shani. There is a strong influence of Jupiter on this transit of the Moon and the mind will be bolstered due to the Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti of Gurū/ Guru from Mithuna Rāśi/ Rashi/ Gemini. Communications and information sharing will be similarly influenced by a solid, phlegmatic, quality of certainty and success. Jupiter is currently guiding the huge stores of information, writing and expression that reside in the sign. From such a location it influences through awareness the waiting mind, the latter stationed in the sign of Jupiter.

This is a process of assimilation and elevation of thought and understanding. With the Moon strong in Pakṣa Bala and with Mercury strong and exalted as well, there is an environment of great strength of purpose and balance.

The Pūrṇimā/ Poornima is therefore divided in its results, spanning doubt, rage and repressed anxiety through the 18th and then when the Moon changes signs and enters Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi then all the positive results will accrue.

We have for instance seen the difference in the Gochara of the Moon in Kumbha Rāśi/ Rashi and in Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi when we consider the death of the 20 years old student Anmol Sarna in New Delhi, India. The Moon was in Aquarius ruled by Rāhu and Śani/ Rahu and Shani and the whole shocking episode relating to psychotropic substances, purportedly erupted. It is quite possible that the security guards are being wrongly implicated simply because Maṅgala/ Mangala/Mars is debilitated in Karkaṭa Rāśi/ Karkata Rashi/ Cancer and these people are in a vulnerable position, easily amenable to manipulation.

The injuries to the private parts, accruing due to the great affliction of Śukra/ Shukra/ Venus by the airy malefics Saturn and Rahu might hold the key because it is from this sexual root that Rāhu/ Rahu aspects the even fructification of the Moon in Aquarius. There is more to it than meets the eye because Rāhu/ Rahu governs confusion and Kumbha Rashi also deludes.

The truth/ Satya is straining to be out due to the Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti of Gurū/ Guru to both Libra and Aquarius. Divinity is watching and illumination and some telling statements have started coming with the transit Moon moving to Pisces.

A BRIEF LOOK AT THE TWELVE LAGNAS/ ASCENDANTS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

People are often curious at the beginning of their astrological quest, to know something of the various facets pertaining to their ‘chart’; in other words, they wish to evaluate the basic propensities pertaining to their Lagnas and their Rashi/ Lagna Kundalis (Kundalis). Also, the Chandra Lagna itself and Gochar furnish other popular areas of curiosity. Lagna is the sign rising on the Eastern horizon at the time of birth and is occupied by a Rāśi (Rashi)/ Vedic sign. The average duration of a sign rising in the Lagna/ Ascendant is two hours and for this reason the twelve Rāśis cover the twenty-four hours duration of the solar day. ( Basic Jyotiṣa principles can be accessed by clicking this link ) Lagna imbues a person with individuality and therefore denotes the self and the personality of the person. It is the first house or Bhāva of the chart and is the commencement point of any horoscopic study. We cannot forget that in all the divisional charts as well there is a Lagna/...

Vedic Astrology: The Charakaraka Replacement and Its Impact

At its deepest core Jyotiṣa is at the driving centre of all Karma. Just like life, if properly appreciated as it must, it has the status of a full-scale on-going project of immense magnitude. Karma and Soul : The Lagna and the Bhavas reckoned from the Lagna in the Rāśi Chakra indicate the physical manifestation of life. In the Varga Chakra the Lagna and the Bhāvas indicate the personality and realities of that specific environment. When we speak of Karma we inevitably speak of the soul as it is the soul which must carry and exhaust the Karma through rebirth. Charakāraka - Matters pertaining to the soul are studied and deciphered through the Charakāraka in Vedic Astrology. The Charakāraka are the temporal significators (Naisargika Kāraka) for various matters at the level of the soul and the Karma. The Charakāraka are decided on the basis of longitude of arc traversed by the planets including minutes and seconds of arc, and sometimes fractions of seconds of arc. The Eight Cha...

Yanavanta/ Annapurna/ Vahana Yoga of Venus and Moon in Scorpio-8th October, 2013

The Yānavaṅta/ Yanavanta/ Annapūrṇā/ Annapurna/ Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga is formed when Venus and Moon/ Śukra and Cañdra/ Shukra and Chandra associate to form a Yoga in the Vedic horoscope; by Vedic horoscope is meant the Rāśi Cakra/ Rashi Chakra and the Varga Chakra as well, the latter being the divisional charts governing specific areas of life such as marriage (Navāmśa/ Navamsha), career (Daśāmśa/ Dashamsha), children (Saptāmśa/ Saptamsha), parents and elders (Dwādaśāmśa/ Dwadashamsha), comforts and luxuries (Ṣodaśāmśa/ Shodashamsha), spirituality and worship (Vimśāmśa/ Vimshamsha), education (Siddhāmśa/ Siddhamsha) etc. Let us consider the immediate meanings of the various terms used to indicate the Yoga formed due to the association of Venus and the Moon. The term Yānavaṅta/ Yanavanta indicates the charioteer or one guiding the vehicle of humanity or a group or individuals. It indicates leadership and the capacity to show the way to the multitudes and to guide and mould their live...
