Moon in Libra Joined Saturn, Rahu and Mercury-6th October, 2013

After the Amāvasyā/ Amavasya Tithi in Virgo/ Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi, the Vedic Moon has transited to Libra to join Saturn, Rahu and Mercury while Venus has moved to Scorpio.

Libra is a sign of the marketplace where a balance is required to be maintained indicated by the symbol of the Rāśi/ Rashi. Saturn gets exalted here and is in fact exalted here in transit with Rāhu/ Rahu. There is high cerebral initiative in matters of business and enterprise and certain personal matters as well.

The transit Moon is a fructifying agent and its entry into the sign gives confirmation and precipitation to whatever it is that is to transpire. For example, when we speak of the Nodal Kemadruma Yoga, in the radix or the nativity, it is the influence of the Moon on the 2nd or 8th Houses from the Lagna that confirms it.

The Gochara Chakra/ transit chart illustrating the movement of the Moon in Libra is given below-

Moon and Mercury are similarly inclined when it comes to trade, commerce, business, markets and such activity. There togetherness might be a little conspicuous with both the Grahas trying to assert themselves, but the business aspect and moving ahead with enterprise will get a spurt. Mercury tends to be playful and motivated only by remuneration while the Moon has a larger social agenda and connection.

The research and thought and focus that comes from Rāhu/ Rahu and Saturn always feels like a compulsion and stress but then such are the combinations. Saturn is exalted and so the basics of valuable transactions will be small and even very large accruals might appear to be middling to those influenced heavily by Śani at this point in their lives.

Some emotional anxiety and undue focus on work may also arise due to the four planets in Libra at this time so readers would do well to exercise moderation and not to work themselves into discomfiture. (I should also keep this in mind while composing those exhaustively long advisements for consulters with peripheral emails on work done and fresh work being commissioned at a frenetic pace :) )

We must never forget to note and to count our blessings in life. The greatest blessing in any horoscope and the direct representative of divinity in life irrespective of the Udaya Lagna rising in the radix is Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter. The Graha brings unconditional divine grace into life and for this reason the Gurū Daśā/ Guru Dasha can be a time for divine connection and for trashing all those arid discussions about Proof of the Existence of God in Western Philosophy which we get into when we are undergraduates. But then undergraduates are allowed to get into anything.

Gurū leaves no doubt that not only there is God but also that the existence of anything except God in life is fraught with great doubt. God may not be this form or that but then to quell these childish doubts we have the great secret esoteric arts of India such as Jyotiṣa/ Jyotisha.

It is this planet which aspects Libra/ Tulā/ Tula from Mithuna Rāśi/ Rashi/  Gemini and brings divine grace to some of the impetus that prevails in the sign. Gurū is informing our rationality and logic and our understanding and communication as students of the world. The blessing of Jupiter's 5th House aspect to Libra informs all transactions and businesses of the blessed with strength of purpose, knowledge and an outcome which is nothing short than infusing our everyday actions with the sublime purity of the divine.

A BRIEF LOOK AT THE TWELVE LAGNAS/ ASCENDANTS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

People are often curious at the beginning of their astrological quest, to know something of the various facets pertaining to their ‘chart’; in other words, they wish to evaluate the basic propensities pertaining to their Lagnas and their Rashi/ Lagna Kundalis (Kundalis). Also, the Chandra Lagna itself and Gochar furnish other popular areas of curiosity. Lagna is the sign rising on the Eastern horizon at the time of birth and is occupied by a Rāśi (Rashi)/ Vedic sign. The average duration of a sign rising in the Lagna/ Ascendant is two hours and for this reason the twelve Rāśis cover the twenty-four hours duration of the solar day. ( Basic Jyotiṣa principles can be accessed by clicking this link ) Lagna imbues a person with individuality and therefore denotes the self and the personality of the person. It is the first house or Bhāva of the chart and is the commencement point of any horoscopic study. We cannot forget that in all the divisional charts as well there is a Lagna/ asc

Yanavanta/ Annapurna/ Vahana Yoga of Venus and Moon in Scorpio-8th October, 2013

The Yānavaṅta/ Yanavanta/ Annapūrṇā/ Annapurna/ Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga is formed when Venus and Moon/ Śukra and Cañdra/ Shukra and Chandra associate to form a Yoga in the Vedic horoscope; by Vedic horoscope is meant the Rāśi Cakra/ Rashi Chakra and the Varga Chakra as well, the latter being the divisional charts governing specific areas of life such as marriage (Navāmśa/ Navamsha), career (Daśāmśa/ Dashamsha), children (Saptāmśa/ Saptamsha), parents and elders (Dwādaśāmśa/ Dwadashamsha), comforts and luxuries (Ṣodaśāmśa/ Shodashamsha), spirituality and worship (Vimśāmśa/ Vimshamsha), education (Siddhāmśa/ Siddhamsha) etc. Let us consider the immediate meanings of the various terms used to indicate the Yoga formed due to the association of Venus and the Moon. The term Yānavaṅta/ Yanavanta indicates the charioteer or one guiding the vehicle of humanity or a group or individuals. It indicates leadership and the capacity to show the way to the multitudes and to guide and mould their live

A METHODOLOGY FOR VEDIC CHART INTERPRETATION

The following is an attempt to lay down a general method to conduct professional chart analysis. It appears to have worked well for the author in his practice. Notably though, it need not be the best way to interpret charts and the astrologer must find her own way when it comes to developing a structure with which to unravel any given chart. Some of the more general features of interpretation are being omitted for fear of the paper becoming unwieldy but certain crucial aspects of Jyotish interpretation are being explained since these are not very widely used. The author is indebted to the works of Pt. Sanjay Rath, author, scholar and Jyotish Guru of Sri Jagannath Center. It is through assimilating the writings of Pt. Rath that the author has been able to progress from the fundamentals of Jyotish to a somewhat deeper understanding. ARUDHA PADAS: The houses as reckoned from the Lagna/ Ascendant reveal the truth about the native. This is metaphysical reality as distinguished from precipit
