Work and Practicalities-Moon in Virgo/ Cañdra in Kanyā Rāśi/ Chandra in Kanya Rashi-16th to 18th June, 2013

The royal solitude has come to an end and the Moon has come to Mercurial Virgo on the evening of 16th June, 2013. Cañdra/ Chandra in Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi indicates a social and mental focus on work.  For the fortunate it will be work for reward or in this day and age it could well be just mindless slogging. Needless to say, the latter is hardly desirable but then must be endured at times, depending on the Karmā.

The lunar ingress chart for the Virgo transit is given below for reference-

There are no planetary aspects on the Moon in Kanya Lagna (to be used interchangeably with Rāśi/ Rashi in the absence of any specific Udaya Lagna/ Ascendants sign being used here) but there is the Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti of four Grahas from Mithuna Lagna/ Rāśi/ Rashi.

Sign aspects/ Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ sign aspects indicate deterministic influences rooted in awareness and therefore the context is Mercurial as both Mithuna and Kanyā/ Kanya are ruled by Budha/ Mercury. Communications and information, pragmatism and routine, getting the job done will be the core determinants for the inputs to the mind during this transit.

However, the great benefic party in Gemini furnishes us all with the necessary knowledge and brilliance to shape our work accordingly. Jupiter gives knowledge of the secret arts and spirituality, higher thought and philosophy in general while Venus imparts the awareness of the way things are in various directions in life-management, corporate working, technology, and Mercury takes all this knowledge and infused with the increasing strength of the Saṅkrāṅti/ Sankranti Sun becomes adept and expert at assimilating everything.

All this in turn impacts Virgo.  The weekend is long over. Get busy.

A BRIEF LOOK AT THE TWELVE LAGNAS/ ASCENDANTS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

People are often curious at the beginning of their astrological quest, to know something of the various facets pertaining to their ‘chart’; in other words, they wish to evaluate the basic propensities pertaining to their Lagnas and their Rashi/ Lagna Kundalis (Kundalis). Also, the Chandra Lagna itself and Gochar furnish other popular areas of curiosity. Lagna is the sign rising on the Eastern horizon at the time of birth and is occupied by a Rāśi (Rashi)/ Vedic sign. The average duration of a sign rising in the Lagna/ Ascendant is two hours and for this reason the twelve Rāśis cover the twenty-four hours duration of the solar day. ( Basic Jyotiṣa principles can be accessed by clicking this link ) Lagna imbues a person with individuality and therefore denotes the self and the personality of the person. It is the first house or Bhāva of the chart and is the commencement point of any horoscopic study. We cannot forget that in all the divisional charts as well there is a Lagna/...

Transits of Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu in 2025 in Vedic Astrology

Spring and summer of 2025 will be marked by notable shifts in transit of the slow-moving planets, Guru, Shani and Rahu-Ketu.  Important transits have the capacity to modify the results of the Dasha. In Vedic astrology/ Jyotisha, therefore, the two phenomena have to be examined together.  Jupiter/ Guru will move to Mithuna Rashi/ Gemini on May 14, 2025 and immediately thereafter the Nodes of the Moon, Rahu and Ketu also transit to Kumbha/ Aquarius and Simha/ Leo respectively. Shani/ Saturn will move to Meena Rashi/ Pisces on March 29, 2025.  Broadly speaking, in highly beneficial Dashas, positive transits lead to an icing on the cake situation, while negative transits can dampen the results or even negate them for a while. The effect can be construed accordingly for adverse Dashas, and so on.  It is well-known that Shani is the only Graha who gives added difficulties when He is strong. But a weak malefic is not to be desired because He becomes far more malefic. In oth...
