Major Vedic Astrology Planetary Transits/ Graha Gochara in March 2015

The Vedic Moon/ Chandra/ Cañdra transits into Sagittarius/ Dhanusha/ Dhanuṣa, crossing the Gaṅdāṅta/ Gandanta region between Scorpio and Sagittarius, on March 14, 2015.

This is at the same time that the great luminary, the Sun/ Surya/ Sūrya is in Saṅkrāṅti as well, in the concluding regions of Aquarius/ Kumbha and travelling to Pisces/ Meena/Mīna Rāśi.

Venus/ Śukra/ Shukra has just moved into Aries/ Mesha/Meṣa from its exaltation in Pisces at this time and is barely at 2 degrees of arc of longitude traversed.

Some serious thresholds of Karma are being crossed whether one realises or not. The Gaṅdāṅta/ Gandanta are the junctional regions between the opposing elements of Water/ Jala Tattwa and Fire/ Agni Tattwa and thus embody conflict. It this is very conspicuous from the Ārūḍha Lagna then it will manifest, else the oppositional strains will be experienced in the subconscious.

Experience is one thing and Karmic movement quite another; they may coincide but are not the same.

With Venus having crossed the Gaṅdāṅta it is now time for new beginnings in matters of relationship, love and marriage. Altogether too energetic an impetus in Aries but the fall in experience which came from poorly considered choice while the preceptor was in Mīna is now a thing of the past. No matter how impulsive we are, the one who comes  into life will be imbued with the best qualities of Venus.

The Sun is the power and the light for all life and for all human beings. The Sun is considered weak while in Saṅkrāṅti/ Sankranti.

There is need for caution in this because Sun has the power to punish being the King and has Daṅḍa/ Danda. When the King is vulnerable and feeling exposed owing to the change, it is best to keep on His right side.

The Sun is going to be in Pisces/Mīna/ Meena Rāśi ruled by Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter and so those who are ruled or impacted strongly by the Sun and Jupiter in some way, by lordship of crucial determinants in the horoscope, or placement in equally conspicuous Bhāvas/ Bhavas will be greatly benefitted.

The reason for this is that Sun and Jupiter are great friends and the Sun brings in all the resources to Pisces and the house occupied by the sign in the horoscope. The Sambandha is fortified by the aspect of Jupiter in exaltation in Cancer/ Karkaṭa Rāśi to Pisces. The sign Meena will have a surfeit of fire and light with Sun, Mars and Ketu there and with the benefic aspect of Jupiter there, the realms of wisdom, orthodox knowledge, esoteric arts, finance, law, foreign lands, Ashrams, hospitals all benefit and become the sources of benefit in myriad ways depending on the context.

The experience from Venus definitely comes in stressed surroundings but Venus is intent on doing good and one may extend lack of trust to one’s own self in this transit rather than having even the slightest element of mistrust for the other.

The Moon comes out of debility and conjunction with Saturn to the width and optimism of Sagittarius and therefore we can certainly say that the atmosphere is dominated by the grace of Jupiter.

The transit chart illustrating and preceding some other changes is given below-

A BRIEF LOOK AT THE TWELVE LAGNAS/ ASCENDANTS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

People are often curious at the beginning of their astrological quest, to know something of the various facets pertaining to their ‘chart’; in other words, they wish to evaluate the basic propensities pertaining to their Lagnas and their Rashi/ Lagna Kundalis (Kundalis). Also, the Chandra Lagna itself and Gochar furnish other popular areas of curiosity. Lagna is the sign rising on the Eastern horizon at the time of birth and is occupied by a Rāśi (Rashi)/ Vedic sign. The average duration of a sign rising in the Lagna/ Ascendant is two hours and for this reason the twelve Rāśis cover the twenty-four hours duration of the solar day. ( Basic Jyotiṣa principles can be accessed by clicking this link ) Lagna imbues a person with individuality and therefore denotes the self and the personality of the person. It is the first house or Bhāva of the chart and is the commencement point of any horoscopic study. We cannot forget that in all the divisional charts as well there is a Lagna/ asc

A METHODOLOGY FOR VEDIC CHART INTERPRETATION

The following is an attempt to lay down a general method to conduct professional chart analysis. It appears to have worked well for the author in his practice. Notably though, it need not be the best way to interpret charts and the astrologer must find her own way when it comes to developing a structure with which to unravel any given chart. Some of the more general features of interpretation are being omitted for fear of the paper becoming unwieldy but certain crucial aspects of Jyotish interpretation are being explained since these are not very widely used. The author is indebted to the works of Pt. Sanjay Rath, author, scholar and Jyotish Guru of Sri Jagannath Center. It is through assimilating the writings of Pt. Rath that the author has been able to progress from the fundamentals of Jyotish to a somewhat deeper understanding. ARUDHA PADAS: The houses as reckoned from the Lagna/ Ascendant reveal the truth about the native. This is metaphysical reality as distinguished from precipit

Yanavanta/ Annapurna/ Vahana Yoga of Venus and Moon in Scorpio-8th October, 2013

The Yānavaṅta/ Yanavanta/ Annapūrṇā/ Annapurna/ Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga is formed when Venus and Moon/ Śukra and Cañdra/ Shukra and Chandra associate to form a Yoga in the Vedic horoscope; by Vedic horoscope is meant the Rāśi Cakra/ Rashi Chakra and the Varga Chakra as well, the latter being the divisional charts governing specific areas of life such as marriage (Navāmśa/ Navamsha), career (Daśāmśa/ Dashamsha), children (Saptāmśa/ Saptamsha), parents and elders (Dwādaśāmśa/ Dwadashamsha), comforts and luxuries (Ṣodaśāmśa/ Shodashamsha), spirituality and worship (Vimśāmśa/ Vimshamsha), education (Siddhāmśa/ Siddhamsha) etc. Let us consider the immediate meanings of the various terms used to indicate the Yoga formed due to the association of Venus and the Moon. The term Yānavaṅta/ Yanavanta indicates the charioteer or one guiding the vehicle of humanity or a group or individuals. It indicates leadership and the capacity to show the way to the multitudes and to guide and mould their live
