The first thing I note about Ben
Affleck’s Rāśi/ Rashi Chakra in the Vedic Astrology framework is that human
signs dominate the Satya Pītha, viz. the Lagna/ Ascendant and the 7th
House. the human signs are the dual or mutable signs and indicate the quality
of intelligence.
Sun Ātmakāraka/ Atmakaraka-
The first
relationship of note was with Gwyneth Paltrow and this is indicated by Saturn
in Leo in the Navāmśa Chakra. Saturn gave a relationship with a very tall, lean
actress.
Venus is in Libra
Lagna forming the Mālavya/ Mahāpuruṣa/ Malavya Mahapurusha Yoga. Mars is also
there and threatens a fiery incident which may threaten to jeopardise the
career at some point in time.

rectification but an essential one for the purposes of this study.
Rāśi Chakra-
Ben Affleck is
born in Gemini Ascendant/ Mithuna Lagna and the Rāśi Chakra is extracted below
for ready reference-
Indeed, Gwyneth Paltrow has characterised
Ben Affleck as ‘super-intelligent’. This is important because the Satya Pītha
houses define the individual and his interaction and participation in the world
with others. His coming into, and passing from, this world are also decided
from these two houses.
Core Karma-
The core Karma is reflected in the Yoga
in the Satya Pītha Bhāva/ Bhava in that Dwi-Gurū/ Guru Yoga is formed with
Venus/ Śukra/ Shukra and Jupiter/ Gurū/ Guru aspecting each other with their 7th
House aspects.
Venus is in the Lagna as the 5th
Lord and so Affleck has a rich talent within him which has come to the fore
with the passage of time. The 5th House is the Citta and also the
internal universe, the talent pool and the conscious mind itself. Venus is the Naisargika
Kāraka/Natural Significator for entertainment and in the Mercurial sign of
Gemini/ Mithuna in the Lagna it finds width of expression.
Affleck is a bit of a polymath, writing,
directing and acting with aplomb in a wide range of films.
The direction and intellectual inputs
come from the retrograde Jupiter in the 7th House in Sagittarius/
Dhanuṣa/ Dhanusha. He has worked very hard to cultivate himself as the
blessings of Jupiter have come through traversing tortuous paths.
A retrograde planet strives much harder
to accomplish and has a tremendous desire to do so. With the preceptors of
opposing camps, Affleck has the best of both worlds, speculative, abstract and
metaphysical contemplation and also the mundane, pragmatic, pleasing to the eye
intelligence.
Father-
Affleck’s father could only reconnect
with his adult sons as his life ‘hit the skids’ owing to issues relating to
alcohol abuse.

absence of the father as the Sun is not only in the 12th Bhāva from
the Ārūḍha Lagna in Leo/ Simha Rāśi but also participates in a severe Curse of
Mercury.
Saturn/ Śani/ Shani is in the 9th
House of the father from the Naisargika Kāraka/Natural Significator Sun and
shows alcohol related problems as Śani rules alcohol.
In fact, as Saturn is the 9th
Lord from the Lagna as well and placed in a friendly sign, Affleck Sr. Later
became an addiction counsellor.
Inner World-
Ben Affleck’s internal journey could not
have been easy and this was reflected in some measure in his acceptance speech
for Argo at the Academy Awards where he said that he was not holding any
grudges for slights in the past and towards the naysayers.
This acute awareness is brought about by
several factors, not least of which is
that Sūrya/ Surya is the Ātmakāraka/ Atmakaraka
planet. The Ātmakāraka is the soul significator for the horoscope and Parāśara/
Parashara has termed it the king of the horoscope- this is the planet farthest advanced by degrees in any chart irrespective of the sign. The Sun stands for power,
authority, royalty, ego and domination. When the Sun becomes the Ātmakāraka the
ego of the person is attacked and this is the means for the soul to shed the
dross of past Karma. A malefic as the Ātmakāraka also shows a considerable soul
journey thus far.
Curse and location from the Ārūḍha/
Arudha Lagna-
The fact that the Sun is in the 12th
from the Ārūḍha Lagna ensures that the father does not properly witness and participate
or contribute to the emergence into the world.
Also, Sun, Mercury and Ketu are joined
aspected by Rāhu and Saturn. The Ātmakāraka and the Lagneśa in a cursed Yoga in
the 12th Bhāva from the Ārūḍha Lagna show self-negation as a
dominant Kārmic theme in Affleck’s life.
It is a fact that he has admitted to an
alcohol abuse problem and has availed of secluded rehabilitation opportunities for
treatment.
From the Rāśi Chakra it appears important
that Affleck watch his internal life as a human being carefully as he can go
off the rails himself, and that too in full public view.
It is the affliction to the Lagneśa Budha
which made Affleck and his friend Matt Damon work as cinema ushers and

Affleck says he ‘respects
her and likes her’ which are both indicative of Sun in the relevant house of
the relationship.
The 3rd
relationship with Jennifer Garner translated into marriage and really hit home
as it is indicated by Tulā Rāśi/ Tula Rashi in the 9th House from
the Lagna and the lord Venus is placed in the Lagna in the Navāmśa Chakra. She
has brought him luck as the sign transposes to the 9th House using
the Amśa Tula Rāśi technique.
We find that
Affleck has deeply ingrained acting abilities with Venus in the Lagna and

Problems-
Problems may
arise due to ill-advised investments and expenses or due to a business venture

Saturn is the 9th
Lord in the Rāśi Chakra and is the Yogakāraka/ Yogakaraka in the Daśāmśa Chakra.
it forms a Viparīta Rāja Yoga with the malefic Yogakāraka badly placed in
Dusthāna from the Lagna. The dispositor Mercury is in the 11th House
of resources. He would not be well-advised in taking on a protégé or get into
any sort of a mentorship role with Kumbha Doṣa/ Dosha coming in.
With the Mercury
Daśā coming in 2019, he will enter the most conspicuous phase in his life, both
for better and for worse. The curse combination is triggered as that in the 12th
Bhāva from the Ārūḍha Lagna. At the same time Mercury is the Lagneśa and major
expenses come into play only when there is major income.
Budha is also the
11th lord of gains from the Ārūḍha Lagna in the Rāśi Chakra and the
planet in the 11th House in the Daśāmśa Chakra. Both extremes are
likely to manifest. In this phase he will be compelled to find his religion
once again.
