Leo & Magha-Royalty in the Palanquin-Moon in Leo on 4th September, 2013

Moon moves to Leo/ Simha Lagna on the 4th of September, 2013 in the early hours of the morning. It is in the Nakṣatra/ Nakshatra of Maghā/ Magha which is symbolised by a royal palanquin.

This is also a new Moon or the Amāvasyā/ Amavasya Tithi where the luminaries are joined and material themes reign supreme. However the Moon is completely dark and the cool nectar which is usually associated with it is missing. Both the Kṛṣṇa Pakṣa Caturdaśī/ Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi and the Amāvasyā/ Amavasya are malefic Tithis requiring propitiation in the natal horoscope.

This is evidenced by the apparent suicide of Ariel Castro, the Cleveland kidnapper and rapist convicted and sentenced to life plus a thousand years, on Tuesday, the 3rd of September, 2013 when the Moon was terribly afflicted by association with a debilitated Mars and the Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti/ planetary aspect of Saturn from Libra. His heart (Cancer where the Moon was transiting) might have seen the truth of his acts and of his life.

Though Ariel Castro's precise time of birth is not known, one way to rectify the Lagna would be to place either Gurū/ Guru or Cañdra/ Chandra in the 3rd Bhāva/ Bhava from the Ārūḍha/ Arudha Lagna in the Rāśi/ Rashi.

Back to the 4th of September-

Mercury or Budha is also joined though it is speeding towards Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi its sign of exaltation. So is Śukra/ Shukra/ Venus moving towards Libra/ Tulā Rāśi/ Tula Rashi and when reckoned with the Sun in Leo, we have several planets in own, Mūlatṛkoṇa/ Moolatrikona or exaltation signs. This is a position where strength, excellence, endeavour, ambition and aspiration can manifest better.

The chart showing the transit of the Moon in Leo/ Simha Lagna is given below for reference-

There appear to be no active adverse influences on the Moon through Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti/ planetary aspect. So, the result is that the social interaction will be at a big, heightened level and commerce, money, communication, work options and resources, funding, personal power will be some of the themes based on which the events shall be enacted.

Transits of Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu in 2025 in Vedic Astrology

Spring and summer of 2025 will be marked by notable shifts in transit of the slow-moving planets, Guru, Shani and Rahu-Ketu.  Important transits have the capacity to modify the results of the Dasha. In Vedic astrology/ Jyotisha, therefore, the two phenomena have to be examined together.  Jupiter/ Guru will move to Mithuna Rashi/ Gemini on May 14, 2025 and immediately thereafter the Nodes of the Moon, Rahu and Ketu also transit to Kumbha/ Aquarius and Simha/ Leo respectively. Shani/ Saturn will move to Meena Rashi/ Pisces on March 29, 2025.  Broadly speaking, in highly beneficial Dashas, positive transits lead to an icing on the cake situation, while negative transits can dampen the results or even negate them for a while. The effect can be construed accordingly for adverse Dashas, and so on.  It is well-known that Shani is the only Graha who gives added difficulties when He is strong. But a weak malefic is not to be desired because He becomes far more malefic. In oth...

A BRIEF LOOK AT THE TWELVE LAGNAS/ ASCENDANTS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

People are often curious at the beginning of their astrological quest, to know something of the various facets pertaining to their ‘chart’; in other words, they wish to evaluate the basic propensities pertaining to their Lagnas and their Rashi/ Lagna Kundalis (Kundalis). Also, the Chandra Lagna itself and Gochar furnish other popular areas of curiosity. Lagna is the sign rising on the Eastern horizon at the time of birth and is occupied by a Rāśi (Rashi)/ Vedic sign. The average duration of a sign rising in the Lagna/ Ascendant is two hours and for this reason the twelve Rāśis cover the twenty-four hours duration of the solar day. ( Basic Jyotiṣa principles can be accessed by clicking this link ) Lagna imbues a person with individuality and therefore denotes the self and the personality of the person. It is the first house or Bhāva of the chart and is the commencement point of any horoscopic study. We cannot forget that in all the divisional charts as well there is a Lagna/...

The Forthcoming Transit/ Gochar of Saturn/ Śani to Libra/ Tulā Rashi on 15th November, 2011

At the present time, when Saturn/ Shani is transiting Virgo/ Kanya Rashi according to the siderial zodiac, we have witnessed many changes, some of them being related to the disturbances in the Prithvi Tattwa, as shown by the earthquake in Japan and the consequent Tsunami. Mercury/ Budh has been debilitated in Pisces/ Meena Rashi at this time but it is equally important to note that Virgo/ Kanya is also a Prithvi Tattwa Rashi or a sign embodying the Earth element. The trine of Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn/ Vrishabh, Kanya and Makar relates to Artha/ financial and monetary element relating to the trine of attainment in work, the accumulation of wealth and the daily work and adversities to be encountered. Shani in Kanya has revealed some of the realities associated with this sign by pressuring the matters associated with it. The chart for the transit of Saturn Implications of the Saturn Transit in Virgo in Virgo is given below:   Saturn is also retrograde and aspects the debilitated M...
