Strength of Planets in April, 2015 in Vedic Astrology

Baisakhi/ Vaishakhi-

The festival of Baisakhi/ Vaishakhi is celebrated in India when the transit Sun enters its exaltation sign of Aries in Vedic Astrology. This happens on April 14 this year in 2015.

Sun in Aries Transit Chart-

The transit chart for the ingress of Sūrya/ Surya/ the Sun into Aries is given below-

Strength of Planets-

At this point in time, the planets are in great strength and dignity.

Jupiter/ Guru-

The greatest benefic Jupiter/ Gurū/ Guru is exalted in Cancer/ Karkaṭa/ Karkata Rāśi/ Rashi.

Wisdom and benefic divine grace abounds especially as Guru has ended its retrogression in the sign and gives the results of past auspicious deeds/ Poorva Punya/Pūrva Puṇya in full vigour.

Mercury/ Budha-

Mercury/ Budha the other great benefic has ended its journey in debilitation in Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi/ Pisces and though it is in an inimical sign, it is no longer debilitated.

Yoga-

Mercury is joined the Sun in this chart, the latter being exalted and coming out of Gaṅdāṅta/ Gandanta. The change in the resources which have been coming and the nature of the personal power available becomes radically different. There is a great deal of power and initiative and pride and spiritual prowess, though radically different will manifest in equal measure depending on the Karma evinced by the horoscope.

Dexterity and adroitness also become available owing to the Nipuṇa Yoga or the Budh Aditya Yoga formed by the conjunction of Mercury and the Sun.

Will and thought come to the forefront as Aries/ Meṣa Rāśi/Mesha Rashi is the head of the Kālapuruṣa/ Kalapurusha and it is in the head that ambition resides.

Mars/Mangala/ Kuja-

Mars/ Maṅgala/ Mangala is already in Aries in its Mūlatṛkoṇa/ Moolatrikona sign and so there is a surfeit of fire and Agni Tattwa overwhelming the rationality and the thought processes.

There is need for some sort of a temporary system of cautionary practice whereby communications of any sort are not issued without some element of deliberation. Maṅtra/ Mantra is one way to accomplish that.

Kshatriya Punishment-

The Agni Tattwa Grahas are Kshatriyas and have the power to punish. Those wielding this power have the authority to punish the erring party. Those on the receiving end have a different story to tell. These distinctions are also reflected in political ideologies and forces propelling pressure groups.

Venus/ Shukra-

Venus the great benefic is in its own sign in Taurus/Vrishabha/Vṛṣabha Rāśi and is also very strong. People ruled by this planet or under its influence on some way receive a lot of luxurious attention and this is what Venus likes best. The natives of this Lagna or Cañdra Rāśi will feel the attention in the best possible ways. This transit is excellent for relationships and love and matters of intimate connexion.

Business works very well and the impulses that truly drive the rooted Taurus are at their solid best. The bull is at his own comfort level. There is a special awareness of important detail.

Rahu-Ketu-

Even the difficult nodes are in strength in their Mūlatṛkoṇa Rāśis in Virgo and Pisces respectively. The one notable thing we can observe is that Rāhu’s 5th House aspect to transit Venus has the power to infuse it with a sense of the future.

Aspect-

The aspect of Jupiter on Saturn and Ketu takes away from the malefic energy.

Support System-

Jupiter, Mars, Sun and Mercury (also the Moon) have agreed to hold some crucial pillars together and this is a very good thing depending on the context becoming relevant in your life through these signs occupied by the planets.

There does not appear to be any need to beware the ides of April, rather the opposite if anything.

A BRIEF LOOK AT THE TWELVE LAGNAS/ ASCENDANTS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

People are often curious at the beginning of their astrological quest, to know something of the various facets pertaining to their ‘chart’; in other words, they wish to evaluate the basic propensities pertaining to their Lagnas and their Rashi/ Lagna Kundalis (Kundalis). Also, the Chandra Lagna itself and Gochar furnish other popular areas of curiosity. Lagna is the sign rising on the Eastern horizon at the time of birth and is occupied by a Rāśi (Rashi)/ Vedic sign. The average duration of a sign rising in the Lagna/ Ascendant is two hours and for this reason the twelve Rāśis cover the twenty-four hours duration of the solar day. ( Basic Jyotiṣa principles can be accessed by clicking this link ) Lagna imbues a person with individuality and therefore denotes the self and the personality of the person. It is the first house or Bhāva of the chart and is the commencement point of any horoscopic study. We cannot forget that in all the divisional charts as well there is a Lagna/ asc

Vedic Astrology: The Charakaraka Replacement and Its Impact

At its deepest core Jyotiṣa is at the driving centre of all Karma. Just like life, if properly appreciated as it must, it has the status of a full-scale on-going project of immense magnitude. Karma and Soul : The Lagna and the Bhavas reckoned from the Lagna in the Rāśi Chakra indicate the physical manifestation of life. In the Varga Chakra the Lagna and the Bhāvas indicate the personality and realities of that specific environment. When we speak of Karma we inevitably speak of the soul as it is the soul which must carry and exhaust the Karma through rebirth. Charakāraka - Matters pertaining to the soul are studied and deciphered through the Charakāraka in Vedic Astrology. The Charakāraka are the temporal significators (Naisargika Kāraka) for various matters at the level of the soul and the Karma. The Charakāraka are decided on the basis of longitude of arc traversed by the planets including minutes and seconds of arc, and sometimes fractions of seconds of arc. The Eight Cha

Yanavanta/ Annapurna/ Vahana Yoga of Venus and Moon in Scorpio-8th October, 2013

The Yānavaṅta/ Yanavanta/ Annapūrṇā/ Annapurna/ Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga is formed when Venus and Moon/ Śukra and Cañdra/ Shukra and Chandra associate to form a Yoga in the Vedic horoscope; by Vedic horoscope is meant the Rāśi Cakra/ Rashi Chakra and the Varga Chakra as well, the latter being the divisional charts governing specific areas of life such as marriage (Navāmśa/ Navamsha), career (Daśāmśa/ Dashamsha), children (Saptāmśa/ Saptamsha), parents and elders (Dwādaśāmśa/ Dwadashamsha), comforts and luxuries (Ṣodaśāmśa/ Shodashamsha), spirituality and worship (Vimśāmśa/ Vimshamsha), education (Siddhāmśa/ Siddhamsha) etc. Let us consider the immediate meanings of the various terms used to indicate the Yoga formed due to the association of Venus and the Moon. The term Yānavaṅta/ Yanavanta indicates the charioteer or one guiding the vehicle of humanity or a group or individuals. It indicates leadership and the capacity to show the way to the multitudes and to guide and mould their live
