Mercury/ Budha in Aquarius/ Kumbha on March 9, 2015- Vedic Astrology Transits

Mercury/ Budha leaves Capricorn/Makara Rāśi/ Rashi and moves to Kumbha Rāśi/ Aquarius on March 9, 2015 in the morning hours.

This is a significant change in the reference frame of Vedic astrology transits as it portends the end of a curse period for Budha.

In Capricorn, Mercury has simultaneously been aspected by Saturn and Rāhu/ Rahu, the North Node of the Moon from Scorpio/ Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika and Virgo/ Kanyā/ Kanya Rāśis respectively.

A planetarycurse is formed when two or more malefic planets aspect a naturally benefic planet. The significations of the planet Mercury such as communications, commerce, learning, transactions and monetary matters have been adversely impacted. Saturn has brought slowness and extra effort to Mercurial realms of endeavor and accomplishment and Rāhu has brought ambiguity and worse, lack of trust in business.

For those significantly under the impact of the planet Budha in any manner, either by way of Daśās/ Dashas/periodicities or by participating in a realm governed by the Graha,  this phase has tested.

The transit chart for the movement of Mercury into Aquarius is given below-

There are no adverse influences on the planet in the sign Aquarius and it is conjoined Sūrya/ Surya/ Sun, the giver of all resources as the Āditya/ Aditya. This period will foster expertise in varying areas for different people as it forms the Budha Aditya/ Āditya Yoga.

There is a lot to be said for the specific affliction brought forth by the combined influence of Saturn and Rāhu but it is beyond the scope of this note. Suffice it to say that the desire to afflict will be absent in Aquarius and original work of great merit is likely to come through in this transit, at least on the positive side of it.

Transits of Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu in 2025 in Vedic Astrology

Spring and summer of 2025 will be marked by notable shifts in transit of the slow-moving planets, Guru, Shani and Rahu-Ketu.  Important transits have the capacity to modify the results of the Dasha. In Vedic astrology/ Jyotisha, therefore, the two phenomena have to be examined together.  Jupiter/ Guru will move to Mithuna Rashi/ Gemini on May 14, 2025 and immediately thereafter the Nodes of the Moon, Rahu and Ketu also transit to Kumbha/ Aquarius and Simha/ Leo respectively. Shani/ Saturn will move to Meena Rashi/ Pisces on March 29, 2025.  Broadly speaking, in highly beneficial Dashas, positive transits lead to an icing on the cake situation, while negative transits can dampen the results or even negate them for a while. The effect can be construed accordingly for adverse Dashas, and so on.  It is well-known that Shani is the only Graha who gives added difficulties when He is strong. But a weak malefic is not to be desired because He becomes far more malefic. In oth...

A BRIEF LOOK AT THE TWELVE LAGNAS/ ASCENDANTS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

People are often curious at the beginning of their astrological quest, to know something of the various facets pertaining to their ‘chart’; in other words, they wish to evaluate the basic propensities pertaining to their Lagnas and their Rashi/ Lagna Kundalis (Kundalis). Also, the Chandra Lagna itself and Gochar furnish other popular areas of curiosity. Lagna is the sign rising on the Eastern horizon at the time of birth and is occupied by a Rāśi (Rashi)/ Vedic sign. The average duration of a sign rising in the Lagna/ Ascendant is two hours and for this reason the twelve Rāśis cover the twenty-four hours duration of the solar day. ( Basic Jyotiṣa principles can be accessed by clicking this link ) Lagna imbues a person with individuality and therefore denotes the self and the personality of the person. It is the first house or Bhāva of the chart and is the commencement point of any horoscopic study. We cannot forget that in all the divisional charts as well there is a Lagna/...

The Forthcoming Transit/ Gochar of Saturn/ Śani to Libra/ Tulā Rashi on 15th November, 2011

At the present time, when Saturn/ Shani is transiting Virgo/ Kanya Rashi according to the siderial zodiac, we have witnessed many changes, some of them being related to the disturbances in the Prithvi Tattwa, as shown by the earthquake in Japan and the consequent Tsunami. Mercury/ Budh has been debilitated in Pisces/ Meena Rashi at this time but it is equally important to note that Virgo/ Kanya is also a Prithvi Tattwa Rashi or a sign embodying the Earth element. The trine of Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn/ Vrishabh, Kanya and Makar relates to Artha/ financial and monetary element relating to the trine of attainment in work, the accumulation of wealth and the daily work and adversities to be encountered. Shani in Kanya has revealed some of the realities associated with this sign by pressuring the matters associated with it. The chart for the transit of Saturn Implications of the Saturn Transit in Virgo in Virgo is given below:   Saturn is also retrograde and aspects the debilitated M...
