Mercury Exalted in Virgo, Venus in Libra, Saturn Exalted, Sun in Leo and Other Delights

Mercury has become exalted in Virgo/ Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi on the 6th of September, 2013. Its exaltation is tremendous for functional matters related to wealth and money, transactions, trade, commerce and intercourse. Raghuram Rajan has taken over as the new Governor of the Reserve Bank of India and with the exaltation of Budha/ Mercury the Rupee climbed back 92 paise against the US Dollar. Mercury is the Naisargika Kāraka/ Karaka or the natural significator for currency.

Usually things take a great deal of effort for them to work out when it comes to deriving benefit from the performance of the work that one does. With Mercury exalted in Virgo the corn of the harvest will be easier to access. Easier only in the sense of reward. The involvement required for the reward will increase if anything. Mercury has its own noose with which it leads the aspirant. Anyhow, there are worse things.

The chart depicting this and other transits is given below-

This transit is such that major Rajas Guṇa/ Guna planets Mercury and Venus have gained strength whereas Saturn has been exalted in Libra for some time. The Sun is also in Leo/ Simha and is therefore powerful and restful in its own domain or lordliness and kingship. These are therefore considerably heady times according to the principles of Vedic astrology.

Venus has also moved into its own sign Libra/ Tulā Rāśi/ Tula Rashi and is in its Mūlatṛkoṇa where again the work with management and corporate personnel comes to the fore. People with the Rajas Grahas strong in the nativity will feel these factors more. Venus is also joined two dire malefics Śani and Rāhu/ Shani and Rahu which brings some shocking and perverse forces to bear on the planet with those somehow touched with these significations. In the more positive sense, foreign travel in the context of corporate work and such features will also show up. This could be an interaction with foreign companies or companies with multinational presence.

Saturn is exalted here and feels bolstered and guided in the company of its Gurū/ Guru/ preceptor Venus. Saturn is poor and Libra shows the corporate world and the market-place and Saturn's basic lack is seemingly covered up here. Its industriousness becomes acceptable and tolerable due to the prospect of handsome reward.

The Sun is placed in Leo/ Simha its own sign of kingship, leadership and power and the resources of the world are brimming at the top. There is the light of abundance and power coming through at this time.

Transits of Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu in 2025 in Vedic Astrology

Spring and summer of 2025 will be marked by notable shifts in transit of the slow-moving planets, Guru, Shani and Rahu-Ketu.  Important transits have the capacity to modify the results of the Dasha. In Vedic astrology/ Jyotisha, therefore, the two phenomena have to be examined together.  Jupiter/ Guru will move to Mithuna Rashi/ Gemini on May 14, 2025 and immediately thereafter the Nodes of the Moon, Rahu and Ketu also transit to Kumbha/ Aquarius and Simha/ Leo respectively. Shani/ Saturn will move to Meena Rashi/ Pisces on March 29, 2025.  Broadly speaking, in highly beneficial Dashas, positive transits lead to an icing on the cake situation, while negative transits can dampen the results or even negate them for a while. The effect can be construed accordingly for adverse Dashas, and so on.  It is well-known that Shani is the only Graha who gives added difficulties when He is strong. But a weak malefic is not to be desired because He becomes far more malefic. In oth...

A BRIEF LOOK AT THE TWELVE LAGNAS/ ASCENDANTS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

People are often curious at the beginning of their astrological quest, to know something of the various facets pertaining to their ‘chart’; in other words, they wish to evaluate the basic propensities pertaining to their Lagnas and their Rashi/ Lagna Kundalis (Kundalis). Also, the Chandra Lagna itself and Gochar furnish other popular areas of curiosity. Lagna is the sign rising on the Eastern horizon at the time of birth and is occupied by a Rāśi (Rashi)/ Vedic sign. The average duration of a sign rising in the Lagna/ Ascendant is two hours and for this reason the twelve Rāśis cover the twenty-four hours duration of the solar day. ( Basic Jyotiṣa principles can be accessed by clicking this link ) Lagna imbues a person with individuality and therefore denotes the self and the personality of the person. It is the first house or Bhāva of the chart and is the commencement point of any horoscopic study. We cannot forget that in all the divisional charts as well there is a Lagna/...

The Forthcoming Transit/ Gochar of Saturn/ Śani to Libra/ Tulā Rashi on 15th November, 2011

At the present time, when Saturn/ Shani is transiting Virgo/ Kanya Rashi according to the siderial zodiac, we have witnessed many changes, some of them being related to the disturbances in the Prithvi Tattwa, as shown by the earthquake in Japan and the consequent Tsunami. Mercury/ Budh has been debilitated in Pisces/ Meena Rashi at this time but it is equally important to note that Virgo/ Kanya is also a Prithvi Tattwa Rashi or a sign embodying the Earth element. The trine of Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn/ Vrishabh, Kanya and Makar relates to Artha/ financial and monetary element relating to the trine of attainment in work, the accumulation of wealth and the daily work and adversities to be encountered. Shani in Kanya has revealed some of the realities associated with this sign by pressuring the matters associated with it. The chart for the transit of Saturn Implications of the Saturn Transit in Virgo in Virgo is given below:   Saturn is also retrograde and aspects the debilitated M...
